The Bass Music Awards

ZomboySince the release of his seminal collection of debut originals, the ‘Game Time’ EP in 2011, Zomboy has made a global impact on the EDM scene. 23-year-old Joshua Mellody only made his first piece of electronic music six months prior to signing to Never Say Die and since then Zomboy has well and truly been thrown in at the deep end and straight onto festival stages worldwide.

His debut EP on Never Say Die Records smashed the Beatport charts entering in to the top 5 releases of dubstep for over 8 weeks. One year on he has remixed DJ Fresh, Skrillex, Flux Pavilion and Hadouken! and clocked up over 10 million views on YouTube. His second EP ‘The Dead Symphonic’ went to No1 on the iTunes Electronica charts in the US, Canada, Germany and Australia as well as hitting No 2 in the UK. His tracks, which have been licensed to labels Warner Music, Ministry of Sound, Strictly Rhythm and more have been championed by heavyweights including Skrillex, Mista Jam, Flux Pavilion and ModeStep. His latest track ‘Here to Stay’ has just been released and used in the trailer for Hollywood Blockbuster ‘End of Watch’.

The last half of 2012 saw Zomboy complete his “Dead Symphonic Tour” – A 6-week tour of the US selling out the major city venues and being billed alongside electronic artist legend Moby. He then retuned to the US and Canada to closed out the year with his “5 Nights 5 Cities” Tour with all of the last 3 nights selling out - ending in Minneapolis on NYE perfecting setting himself up for 2013.

Originally from a background of more traditional sound engineering, running his own recording studio, recording bands, artists, and gaining a following in America with his solo project “Place Your Bet$”, it was when he moved to Guildford, UK to study a degree in Music production at the ACM that Zomboy discovered a new love for electronic music. Zomboy sites influences such as Skrillex, Reso, Rusko, and Bare Noize as the reason he wanted to dominate the dubstep scene.
